A week in Paradise with Sandal’s Royal Bahamian
Imagine having a home on a piece of paradise where anything and everything you ever want and need is possible.. This is what Sandal’s Royal Bahamian gave me. I had my dream home on an island, nested amongst beautiful gardens and by the most incredible sea I had ever witnessed. Full time princess treatment which is of course what we all need every now and then. I want to share with you my Sandal’s story from start to end to give you a flavour of what it’s like to stay with one of the most incredible all-inclusive luxury resort chains - Sandal’s as it was truly a dream holiday for me.
When we landed we were welcomed by our driver and was escorted into our Rolls Royce to be taken to the hotel. The Manager was at the door waiting to welcome us and ensure we had a smooth check-in process which literally took less than 2 minutes. Then comes the best part.. we were introduced to our butler. Yes, our own PERSONAL BUTLER, with a huge smile on his face, with such warmth and humour he welcomed us to the resort and gave us the grand tour. The hotel had everything we could have ever imagined that suites all tastes. An elegant piano bar with large chandeliers which hosts Gatsby style nights with live music performances. A British style pub showing live sports events, serving pub food and drinks. An elegant French restaurant where you get to dress up for a romantic meal and enjoy fine dining with your loved one. An Italian by the beach and poolside serving a delicious variety of pizza’s freshly made to order. A Japanese teppanyaki style where it’s not just a joy for the taste buds but it’s also an amazingly entertaining performance.
We were taken to our room which was surrounded by beautiful gardens and flowers all chosen by the amazing and tasteful owner of the Sandals’ resorts'. Each building was named after a flower of his choice and liking and the gorgeous colours, and smell in the air was mesmerising. We were welcomed to our room with Champagne and canapés waiting for us inside. Our butler then presented our weekly agenda for us which he had planned numerous watersport activities during the day and dinner in a different restaurant for each night. I’ve never experience such a proactive and welcoming approach by any resort before. Normally you need to book yourself when you arrive and that one restaurant you really want to try is fully booked! This is why my experience with Sandal’s was so unforgettable because there were no hiccups and everything to the finest detail was perfection.
I never forget my butler hading over my own personal mobile phone in our room then saying ‘you ring it we bring it’. This is what I call service! Each time I had a question, wanted a drink, a beach cabana booked for the next day, craved one of their delicious pizza’s I had princess treatment and my butler brought it to me wherever I was in the resort. What is the best of all experiences provided by Sandal’s is that anything you wish for you just tell your butler and he makes it possible. So if you fancy a massage in their incredible spa you don’t actually have to do anything but turn up. Your butler will organise your appointment for you and always meet you beforehand to escort you to any appointment you have be it dinner or a spa treatment.
It only gets better.. Sandal’s Royal Bahamian have their own private island across the resort only 15 minutes boat ride away shown in the photos below. The resort provides boats every hour to the private island where you can relax, unwind, and enjoy the beach cabanas, jump onto one of their gorgeous sea hammocks or beach swings and soak up the Bahamian sun. They also have a great restaurant on the private island where you can have a romantic candlelight private dinner on the beach. This restaurant is also open during the day serving beach snacks for those enjoying their day there.
The resort also have their own your agency on site where you can book day excursions, diving experiences etc. All can be done with Sandals’s and you don’t have to call anyone else but your butler! I was so entertained the whole day almost doing nothing but lying on the gorgeous beach facing the richest shades of blue I had ever seen. Sandal’s Royal Bahamian has the most beautiful spot on Nassau with divine sunsets. I remember how every night we would sit by the romantic beach fire seating area watching another day go by saying goodbye to the gorgeous sun sipping away our pre-dinner cocktails. Speaking of cocktails, I don’t ever remember sampling so many different cocktails in my life! Our butler would turn up every two hours to surprise us with another cocktail where we were not told what was inside as he said ‘In the Bahamas we don’t kiss and tell’ but all of them were extremely delicious. If it doesn’t suit your taste buds your butler is there to change it for one that will! In Sandal’s its all about ensuring their guests are happy and having a good time.
Our butler made our stay very unique as he went above and beyond our expectations. I told him that we wanted to be up early on our final day and have a sunrise breakfast on the beach. When came our final day I had even forgotten about this idea I had but he hadn’t. The night before he told me he would take us to the breakfast spot on the beach in the morning and he asked us what we would like to eat. I remember arriving on the beach half asleep oh but the warm breeze and the smell of those delicious pancakes woke me up in such a joyous way I wish every morning of mine started like that.
What I usually find with all-inclusive chain resorts is that despite the resorts being reputable and beautiful, they end up compromising their quality of service as they’re focusing on mass occupancy. What made my Sandal’s experience so unique was that despite being an all-inclusive and rather largely spread resort, the quality of their was impeccable. Having your own private butler with such a warm and welcoming attitude was really what made it for me. When leaving I wanted to take him back home with me as by the end of my holiday I felt like he was part of our family!
Sandals’ resorts are nested amongst the most beautiful parts of the Caribbean and each and every single resort has their unique design, local touch, and delicious restaurants so they’re the perfect destination for a romantic break and/or honeymoon.
